There are 21 Spanish-speaking countries in the world with over 500 million speakers. It’s no wonder that Spanish ranks as the fourth most spoken language in the world. They can’t all come from one place, so that begs the question: what are all the Spanish-speaking countries, exactly? We’re glad you asked.
Spanish is a global language spoken from Asia to the Americas to Africa. That’s pretty impressive.
No time to waste, vamos!
Formally, Spanish is the official language of 21 countries and one dependent territory: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
It should be noted that this list includes Equatorial Guinea, where Spanish is official but not a native language.
